Originally from Charente-Maritime, Frantz Chagnoleau began his career with Olivier Merlin. With his wife Caroline Gon, also an oenologist (in charge of the Les Héritiers Comte Lafon estate), they brought together nearly 7 hectares, mainly in Saint-Albain, Chasselas, Prissé and Vergisson.
The wines come from vines with an average age of 50 years, all plowed, and the estate approaches biodynamic practices through the use of herbal teas and indigenous yeasts (100%). We award the first star to this promising area. We appreciate the accuracy of the maturities that show through the entire range, the precision of the aging in wood and the ability of the wines to stand the test of time.
