Château Guiraud is the most extensive domain in Sauternes. Its land, made up of sandy and clayey gravel, requires regular drainage. The care given to the vines throughout the year is carried out with respect for traditions and the environment. In order to harvest perfectly ripe and botrytised grapes, the harvests carried out at Château Guiraud leave no room for approximation and lead to a drastic selection. Yields are generally below the standard of 25hl / ha, even reaching 12hl / ha in order to produce a great quality wine.
The arrival in 2006 of four new owners, Robert Peugeot, and three winegrowers, Olivier Bernard, Stephan Von Neipperg and Xavier Planty, marks a new era for this Sauternes Premier Cru Classé, which now places the choice of environmental practices at the forefront. respectful.
Château Guiraud also markets a second wine, the Dauphin de Château Guiraud, (Sauternes appellation) as well as a dry white wine, called "G" from Château Guiraud (Bordeaux appellation).
