Château LARCIS-DUCASSE 1975
Saint-Émilion Grand Cru

You will find 3 grape varieties in this Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Émilion produced by Nicolas Thienpont: a little more than three quarters of Merlot, a fifth of Cabernet Franc and the rest in Cabernet Sauvignon, with vines that are 35 years old in 2010. They occupy a mosaic of soils - alluvium, molasses, limestone, clay - which contribute to the complexity and depth of this cuvée.

The 11 hectares are harvested by hand once the balance between tannic maturity and aromatic freshness has been achieved . There follows a drastic sorting, a plot-based vinification with little intervention and an 18-month aging with around 60% new barrels.

There is in this Grand Cru Larcis Ducasse richness, substance, smoothness, fruit and the harmonious expression of the terroirs that compose it. Drink it over the next 15 years. The consistency of this wine, underlined by the choices and the notes of Bernard Burtschy, makes it possible to buy all the latest vintages without making a mistake. With a preference for the 2010, a cuvée without Cabernet Sauvignon , voluptuous and superbly spicy.
