Irouléguy - Red - Organic BORDAXURIA 2015

Red Irouléguy is made from Tannat and Cabernet Franc. The harvest is put in destemmed and crushed vats. The vatting lasts 16 days with punching down and light pumping over. Aging takes place in stainless steel vats for 11 months.

The Bordaxuria farm is located opposite Saint Jean Pied de Port, on the steep slopes of the ARRADOY. It has 7 hectares of vines in production, totally planted in terraces (the topography is arranged in bench). This planting system made it possible to plant vines on slopes of more than 40%. This quality terroir makes it possible to cultivate a first-class vine, ideal for the production of a wine full of flavors. The very steep relief of the land makes the mechanization of wine-growing difficult and much of the work remains manual. The terraces lead to a lower density of plantations (between 2,500 and 4,000 vines per hectare) and therefore lower yields (between 25 and 30 hl per hectare).
