Château SAINT-GEORGES (CÔTE PAVIE) 1994 Saint-Émilion Grand Cru
Château SAINT-GEORGES (COTE PAVIE) 1994
Saint Georges Côte Pavie was bought in 1873 by Jules Charoulet, born in Argentat into a family that has been trading staves for several generations (oak planks used to make the staves for barrels).
A wine merchant since 1857, he knows the region well. His son Adolphe, Jacques Masson's grandfather, will succeed him as trader. He was successively President of the Libournais agricultural show then deputy for Gironde in 1924, elected on the list of the mayor of Bordeaux.
Jacques Masson inherited in 1980 from Saint Georges Côte Pavie. In 1985 he took early retirement to look after the property.
Saint Georges Côte Pavie, with an area of just over 5 hectares, is located at the southern exit of Saint-Emilion on the famous Pavie hillside where the Romans already cultivated vines.
The property occupies an exceptional site. From the south / south west facing terrace, one enjoys a very extensive view over the Dordogne valley. At the back of the house, we discover the Château Ausone and the village of Saint-Emilion from an angle very appreciated by photographers.
