Château Tire Pé - L'Echapée - Castet et Mancin des Palus 2016
Blend of two ancestral grape varieties from the Bordeaux region, now endangered: The castet and mancin palus.
The castet: discovered around 1870 in the Gironde would originate from the small village of Castets en Dorthe, located not far from the estate!
Quickly, this grape variety experienced a great growth in the Aquitaine vineyards, with a solid reputation, and was forgotten after the ravages of phylloxera around 1880, (insect responsible for the destruction of a large part of the French vineyard).
The mancin palus: also a very old grape Gironde, it could come from the medieval era; In 1871, writings tell us the beautiful fame of this grape, then dominating in some great wines of Graves and Médoc! It has almost disappeared today.
Aromas of wild berries, licorice, white flowers, spices; fleshy and "crunchy" mouth
