Created in 1638, Château Léoville Las Cases produces some of the most prestigious wines in Bordeaux. These wines were already well known, appreciated ... and dear in the middle of the eighteenth century, thanks to the efforts of the owner, Blaise-Alexandre de Gasq, Lord of Léoville. Four of his heirs shared the domain at the Revolution. One of them, the Marquis de Las Cases, owner of a quarter of the lands, having fled abroad, the three others obtained from the Revolutionary State a partial confiscation of the estate, bearing specifying on this quarter. This parcel will eventually become Léoville Barton. At the beginning of the 19th century, the estate was split again, half of which was contiguous to Château Latour, which constitutes the current vineyard. Léoville Las Cases produces a wine of incredible complexity. In the interests of quality, a large part of the production is systematically decommissioned (up to 67% in the 1990 vintage). Very regular, the wines reach perfection in most great vintages. Deeply colored, tannic, ample and concentrated, they are endowed with a great potential of guard. Great wines
