Bodegas Olarra - Cerro Anon Crianza 2019
The Grupo Bodegas Olarra started out in 1973 with the construction of a wine cellar for making Rioja wines on the outskirts of Logroño, in Spain. It is composed of three bodegas: Bodegas Olarra, Bodegas Ondarre and Bodegas y Viñedos Casa del Valle. Bodegas Olarra spreads over 1,200 hectares in the heart of Rioja DO.
Cerro Añon Crianza is a blend of Tempranillo (90%), with Mazuelo and Graciano (10%). The maceration lasts 2 weeks, with daily pumping over in stainless steel vats. One third of the wine goes through malolactic fermentation in new 225-litres French and American oak casks, while the remaining two third did their malolactic in concrete tanks. The ageing lasts 14 to 15 months with regular racking in 225-litres oak casks, 80% of which are made of American wood. The age of the barrels range from brand new to 7 years.
