Domaine Trapet - Gevrey Chambertin - Ostrea 2020
Domaine Trapet Père et Fils is made up of two estates: one in Burgundy , in the commune of Gevrey-Chambertin and one in Alsace . The company in its current bi-regional configuration was formed when Andrée Trapet inherited her parents' vineyards in Alsace in 2002. Her husband Jean-Louis Trapet has been running Domaine Trapet Père et Fils in Gevrey-Chambertin since 1990, when which he succeeded his father Jean. This last property is one of the great historic estates of the Côte de Nuits. The vineyard covers 16 hectares, dominated by plots in Chambertin (1.9 hectares), Latricières-Chambertin and Chapelle-Chambertin. Both estates are operated in biodynamic viticulture .
The Gevrey-Chambertin Ostrea comes from four plots over 2.50 hectares and whose oldest Pinot Noir vines were planted in 1913. The aging is carried out in barrels for 15 to 18 months , of which 30 to 50% are new. .
