Domaine Muriel Giuducelli - Blanc de Noirs 2021
Domaine Giudicelli is located in the town of Poggio d'Oletta in the Patrimonio appellation, in the north of Corsica . It has been run by Muriel Giudicelli since 1997. Originally from the south-east of Corsica, Muriel did not immediately turn to viticulture and obtained an agricultural BTS related to cattle, then a diploma in communication and sociology. Helped by Antoine Arena, Muriel Giudicelli set up her estate on 5 hectares and went to train in several French regions with talented winegrowers. In 2005, her husband Stéphane joined her on the estate. Today, the 11-hectare estate is spread over a diversity of terroirs (clays, granites, schists, etc.) and has been run in certified biodynamics since 2012.
The manual harvest allows a strict selection of the berries, abandoning between 15 to 20% of the grapes. Vinification begins spontaneously with indigenous yeasts, and no oenological product is added. White wines and rosés are put in slow direct pressing, and red wines are made from infused macerations. The aging is long, in stainless steel vats or Austrian Stockinger brand tuns for the red wines.
Grapes: 80% Grenache Noir, 20% Vermentino
