Domaine de la Solitude 2016
Domaine de la Solitude is located in Pessac-Léognan , in the Bordeaux wine region. In 1820, the Bordeaux priest Pierre Bienvenu Noailles founded the Association de la Sainte Famille, a Christian community. The Association brought together apostolic and contemplative sisters, associated priests, lay people, etc. and they settled in the Hermitage, a main building on the edge of the farm buildings. They divided their time between working in the fields and running an orphanage. In the 1970s, the sisters decided to enhance their wine capital, and gave up its management to external stakeholders. In 1993, Olivier Bernard (who has managed Domaine de Chevalier since 1983) agreed to lease the 34-hectare La Solitude wine estate for a period of 40 years.
Domaine de la Solitude 2016 is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (55%) and Merlot (45%) . The aging lasts 14 months in barrels , with the first months on lees.
