Domaine Philippe Tessier - The Point of the Day 2022
Domaine Philippe Tessier is located in Cheverny, in the Loire Valley. The 26-hectare family estate covers the Cheverny and Cour-Cheverny appellation areas. Philippe Tessier took over the estate in 1981, which his father Roger had created in 1961. In February 2020, Simon, Philippe's son, took over management of the estate. The vineyard has been certified organic since 1998. In the vineyards, no chemical inputs are used to keep the soil alive with a large and varied flora and microbial fauna. In the winery, vinification is carried out without technical artifice: no yeasting, enzyming, or chemical correction.
Le Point du Jour is a blend of Pinot Noir (80%) and Gamay (20%) from vines around 40 years old. Part of the harvest (70%) is kept in whole bunches, and the wine is aged in wooden (50%) and concrete (50%) vats .
Grape varieties: 80% Pinot Noir, 20% Gamay
