Château LA POINTE - Ballad of the Pointe 2017
Château La Pointe, one of the oldest estates in Pomerol, is renowned for its elegant and precise wines, produced on a terroir of deep gravel and clay. Located west of the Pomerol plateau, the estate benefits from a temperate microclimate and meticulous viticulture, guided by a constant search for balance and fruit expression.
The 2017 Ballade de La Pointe is the château's second wine, made from young vines and plots selected for their quicker accessibility. The 2017 vintage, marked by contrasting weather but a bright summer, produced perfectly ripe grapes with beautiful aromatic freshness. The blend, dominated by Merlot and complemented by Cabernet Franc, benefited from partial aging in French oak barrels, precisely dosed to preserve the crispness of the fruit.
The nose opens with aromas of cherry, wild strawberry, and violet, accompanied by light touches of sweet spices and cocoa. On the palate, the attack is supple, the fruit expressive, and the texture velvety. The fine, melted tannins support a balanced and fluid structure. The finish, harmonious and delicate, leaves an impression of freshness and refinement typical of Pomerol wines.
A charming and accessible Pomerol, perfect for enjoying today with roast poultry, filet mignon, or mushroom risotto. Serve between 16 and 17°C.
