Dominique Leandre Chevalier - DLC - Monople du Bord'eaux Inferieur 2016
Monopoly concept:
Stay on the ground (between two waters). DLC has been fighting for more than 30 years to create wine of great character up to 33333 feet per hectare. And it is for this reason that we must remain modest and precise also in the communication knowing that the monopoly produces wines on vines at 3500 feet per hectare. Nothing must be "superior" to others, quite the contrary. The monopoly of BORD'EAUX INFERIEUR shows the exactness of things and a definite choice.
Terroir and environment:
Patiras Island. In front of Pauillac. The only vineyard on the island. It comes from a microclimate, fertile land, surrounded by the largest estuary in Europe which is a source of inspiration and imagination of the winemaker.
Grapes: 90% Merlot, blended with 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Petit Verdot.
Inspired by the coolness of the microclimate on the island DLC has created a fruity and greedy wine. A hint of iodine recalls its origins on the island in the Estuary. A real delight!
