Porto di Mola - Galluccio Bianco 2024
Porto di Mola is an estate located in Galluccio, in the province of Caserta, in northern Campania. The property extends over the slopes of the ancient Roccamonfina volcano, a still preserved area where vineyards coexist with olive groves, woods, and Mediterranean scrub landscapes. The Capuano and Esposito families have given this place an important agricultural dimension, developing an estate that is both viticultural and oleicultural. The volcanic soils, rich in minerals and trace elements, give the wines a very distinctive identity, combining freshness, sapidity, and structure. In this region, less known than Irpinia or Sannio, Falanghina holds an essential place among Campanian white grape varieties. Porto di Mola Galluccio Bianco 2024 highlights this local expression with a frank, bright, and deeply Mediterranean white. It is a cuvée that well illustrates the estate's vocation: to offer accessible, sincere wines rooted in their terroir.
The Galluccio Bianco 2024 cuvée is made exclusively from Falanghina Beneventana, a white grape emblematic of southern Italy. The vines are cultivated on volcanic soils in the Galluccio area, at the foot of the Roccamonfina massif. This origin gives the wine a naturally sapid dimension, with freshness that balances the sunny character of Campania. The grapes are hand-harvested in small crates to preserve their integrity until arrival at the winery. Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled steel tanks, aiming for aromatic clarity and respect for the grape variety. Aging on lees in steel adds some texture while maintaining the wine's lively, direct, and fruity style. The 2024 vintage thus presents itself as a white for immediate pleasure, built on freshness, minerality, and fruit purity.
In the glass, Porto di Mola Galluccio Bianco 2024 reveals a clear, bright, fresh straw-yellow color. The nose evokes white flowers, pear, fresh apple, citrus fruits, and a delicately herbaceous touch typical of Falanghina. The palate is lively, supple, and sapid, with a beautiful mineral sensation on the finish. The wine maintains a pleasant balance between fruit, freshness, and light roundness, without heaviness or aromatic excess. Its clean, slightly saline finish recalls the influence of Galluccio's volcanic soils. It will perfectly accompany mozzarella di bufala, antipasti, grilled fish, seafood, clam pasta, or simple and fragrant Mediterranean cuisine. Serve around 10 to 12°C, both as an aperitif and at the table, to fully enjoy its brightness and drinkability.
