Château YON-FIGEAC 1978
In its first wine, the Grand Cru Classé Yon-Figeac invites the two main grape varieties of Saint-Émilion, with 4/5th of Merlot for a fifth of Cabernet Franc. The vines are 35 years old on average and they grow on a clay-sandy soil on a subsoil rich in iron scum.
After manual harvesting at full maturity and careful sorting, the vinification is fragmented and highly extractive, before aging for 12 to 14 months in new oak barrels.
All of the 1978 vintage wines are now mature and ready to drink.
