Representative of the noblest terroirs of the Médoc, Château Ramage la Batisse with its 85ha of gravel-sandy croups produces a Cru Bourgeois from the Haut Médoc as well as its little brother, a wine called Clos de Ramage. The latter comes from young vines but the ageing is the same. The rest of the vines are 30 years old and consist of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. These, located in the town of Saint-Sauveur, near Pauillac, are particularly well cared for. The harvest is manual and followed by classic vinification by Georges Pauli, a world renowned winemaker. Each cuvée is followed individually. A third of the harvest is malolactically fermented in barrels. Aging lasts a minimum of 12 months and takes place in oak barrels, a third of which are new.
