Château ROUGET 1990
The history of Château Rouget was established centuries ago. Recognised since the end of the Roman Empire, the terroirs of the Château were then confused with those of Saint-Emilion.
At the end of the 19th century, a ranking of Pomerol wines placed Rouget amongst the five best wines of the appellation.
The Labruyère family takes its origins in the Beaujolais terroir, where it has owned a winery on the Moulin-à-Vent appellation since 1850. Over the years, it has chosen to establish itself in other major winemaking regions from France, renowned for their exceptional terroirs. This is how the family became owner of Château Rouget in 1992.
The 17-hectare vineyard is made up of the grape varieties best adapted to its terroir: Merlot represents 85% and is associated with Cabernet Franc which finds in Rouget the ideal conditions to mature serenely. The vines are about forty years old on average.
