Château Lafitte - Vin Orange 2019
Château Lafitte is a former 14th century manor house, located in Monein, between Pau and Oloron Sainte-Marie, in the Atlantic Pyrenees. The current owners of Château Lafitte, Philippe and Brigitte Arraou, have been undertaking a project for the past thirty years that has always been a dream for them: to relaunch wine production. Since 2012, their son Antoine, a passionate winegrower, committed to preserving the environment, has managed the estate. He changed it from organic farming to biodynamics, and paved the way for natural wines. It produces high quality wines while respecting the balance of the land and the vine. The 5-hectare vineyard is made up of equal parts Petit Manseng and Gros Manseng.
The Orange cuvée is made from 100% Petit Manseng. The wine comes from a 21-day maceration between the grapes and their juice, then fermented and naturally aged in a terracotta amphora. It can be tasted like a light red wine, and will keep for up to 10 years.
Grape variety: 100% Petit Manseng
