Château LA CONSEILLANTE - Duo 2017
Château La Conseillante is located in the Pomerol appellation on the border with Saint-Émilion in Bordeaux. The Château is next to L'Evangile and Vieux Château Certan in Pomerol, and Cheval Blanc. Château La Conseillante dates back to the middle of the 18th century, when it was managed by Catherine Conseillan. It has belonged to the Nicolas familysince 1871. Since 2003, Bertrand and Jean-Valmy Nicolas, representing the fifth generation, have written a new chapter in the history of the estate. Today, they manage the estate in an increasingly eco-responsible and sustainable manner. La Conseillante vineyard covers 12 hectares, made up of a patchwork of sixteen plots, the oldest of which was planted in 1958.
Duo de Conseillante 2017 is a blend of Merlot (80%) and Cabernet Franc (20%). The grapes went through a pre-fermentary cold-maceration for 4 days and vatted for 27 days in concrete tanks. The wine was aged for 16 months in 50% new barrels and 50% one year old barrels.
