Domaine Pithon Paillé - Grololo - Magnum 2020
Domaine Pithon-Paillé operates 13 hectares of organically grown vines, certified Quality France. The vines are located in Saint-Lambert du Lattay (Bonnes Blanches), Saint-Aubin de Luigné (La Fresnaye), Beaulieu sur Layon (Coteau des Treilles), Rochefort sur Loire (Quarts de Chaume) and Savennières, in the Loire Valley. The wines produced are aged in barrels and wooden vats for 10 to 18 months depending on the vintage. Domaine Pithon-Paillé was created in early 2008 by Isabelle and Jo Pithon in association with Wendy and Joseph Paillé. Jo Pithon has been a winemaker for over 30 years, and Isabelle for 20 years. Joseph, Isabelle's son, has been working in the vineyards since the age of 13.
This cuvée owes its name to the grape variety that constitutes it: Grolleau (or Groslot), a minority but historic grape variety from Anjou which gives low tannic wines with lots of fruit and generosity.
Grape variety: 100% Grolleau
