Château CROIZET-BAGES 2016
Château Croizet-Bages is located in the Pauillac appellation, in Bordeaux . It was classified Fifth Grand Cru Classé in the classification of 1855. The estate was created on the former property of Bages dating from the 16th century. In 1934, it became the property of Paul Quié and has remained in the family ever since. It is managed by Jean-Michel Quié, Anne-Françoise Quié and Jean-Philippe Quié, who also own Château Rauzan-Gassies and Château Bel-Orme.
The wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot . Fermentation is carried out in stainless steel vats by plot. The aging lasts 12 months in French oak barrels . The 2016 vintage in Bordeaux is widely considered excellent, even legendary. Overall the maturation process was slow, which meant that despite the intense summer heat, the alcohol levels were kept under control, although the acidity was also reasonably low. The wines are mainly characterized by aromas of rich, ripe fruit with well-integrated tannins.
