Castle BASTOR-LAMONTAGNE 2019
Château Bastor-Lamontagne is located in Preignac , one of the five communes of the Sauternes appellation in Bordeaux . The estate takes its name from the Chevalier de la Montaigne, adviser to the Parliament of Bordeaux and owner of the Château in 1711. It gained its notoriety under the influence of Amédée Larrieu who was also the owner of Château Haut-Brion in Pessac. The Château has had several owners: Crédit Foncier de France (1936), the Moulin-Houzé and Cathiard families (2014) and the Helfrich family since 2018. The estate extends over 50 hectares in one piece, planted mainly with Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc. The vineyard has been conducted in certified organic farming since 2016. A long-term program of renovation of the vineyard is implemented: uprooting of vines that are too old and/or located on average quality terroirs and new plantations.
Sauternes is a blend of Sémillon (80%) and Sauvignon Blanc (20%) .
Grapes: 80% Semillon, 20% Sauvignon Blanc
