Domaine Belargus - Ronceray 2020
Domaine Belargus is located in Val-du-Layon, in the heart of Anjou Noir in the Loire Valley. The vines are spread around three main islets (Savennières, Quarts-de-Chaume and the Coteaux du Layon), themselves composed of singular terroirs, precisely defined by their exposure, their subsoil or their slope. Built by Ivan Massonnat , the 20-hectare biodynamic estate is dedicated to Chenin Blanc and explores these micro-terroirs in a parcel-based approach inspired by Burgundy climates. The team is made up of young talents such as Adrien Moreau as cellar manager and Amaury Chartier as cultivation manager, and the estate benefits from the support of true Loire pioneers such as Jo Pithon and Guy Bossard.
Under the impetus of several winegrowers of the appellation, Ronceray is the name given to the dry white wines produced under the Chaume Premier Cru and Quarts de Chaume Grand Cru appellation, in homage to the abbesses of the Ronceray abbey, owners of the vines. in the 11th century. This cuvée comes from Chenin Blanc cultivated on 4.44 hectares on a terroir of shale and sandstone, exposed on the southern slope of the ridge.
Grape variety: 100% Chenin Blanc
