Domaine Muriel Giudicelli - Red 2020
Domaine Giudicelli is located in the town of Poggio d'Oletta in the Patrimonio appellation, in the north of Corsica . It has been operated by Muriel Giudicelli since 1997. Originally from the south-east of Corsica, Muriel did not immediately turn to viticulture and obtained an agricultural BTS linked to cattle, then a diploma in communication and sociology. Helped by Antoine Arena, Muriel Giudicelli set up her estate on 5 hectares and will train in several French regions with talented winegrowers. In 2005, her husband Stéphane joined her on the estate. Today, the 11 hectare estate is spread over a diversity of terroirs (clays, granites, schists, etc.) and managed using certified biodynamics since 2012.
Manual harvesting allows a strict selection of berries, abandoning between 15 to 20% of the grapes. Vinification begins spontaneously with native yeasts, and no oenological product is added. The white wines and rosés are put through slow direct pressing, and the red wines are made from infused macerations. The aging is long, in stainless steel vats or Austrian brand Stockinger vats for the red wines.
Grape variety: 100% Niellucciu
