Maison Stephan - Syrah - Magnum 2018
Maison Stéphan is located in Tupin-et-Semons, in Côte-Rôtie in the Rhône Valley. Jean-Michel Stéphan , through his father and great-grandfather, comes from a family of market gardeners and fruit growers. Originally, the wine estate comprised 2 hectares in AOC Côte-rôtie whose grapes were sold to a local wine merchant. It was not until 1994 that the first bottles of the estate were marketed. In 1991, Jean-Michel Stéphan created the estate and began producing organic wine in 1995. This was followed by the first production of natural wine in 1997, with the initiative of Jules Chauvet. In 2017, Jean-Michel Stéphan joined forces with his son Romain to create Maison Stéphan and begins to build its future.
This vintage comes from Syrah grown on a terroir of ancient alluvium from the Rhône and glacial moraine. The wine is aged for 8 months in concrete vats .
