Clos Larrouyat - Météore 2024
Clos Larrouyat is located in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, in the Jurançon appellation. It is an estate created by Maxime Salharang in 2011, in honor of his maternal grandfather, Roger Larrouyat. The 3-hectare vineyard is managed biodynamically on a unique terroir of pebble sheets from the Ossau Valley, but is only certified organic . Maxime Salharang mainly cultivates two grape varieties: Petit Manseng and Gros Manseng.
Météore is a dry Jurançon , made from Petit Manseng (70%) , supplemented with Gros Manseng (30%) . The grape varieties are vinified separately, aged in barrels of several wines for 6 months and then finally blended before bottling.
Grape varieties: 70% Petit Manseng, 30% Gros Manseng
"A vibrant nose of candied citrus, white flowers, and wet stone. On the palate, the attack is tense and straightforward, with beautiful energy and salinity on the finish."
