Audrey Bruisson , global marketing director of Spiribam (owner of the JM distillery), will invite you on a journey into the world of Rhum JM , the legendary Martinique distillery. The €20 fee is fully deductible from the purchase of one of the bottles tasted during this evening.
The Rhum JM distillery, founded in 1845 at the foot of Mount Pelée, is one of the oldest and most emblematic in Martinique. Nestled in the lush greenery of Macouba, it combines artisanal tradition and innovation to produce agricultural rums of great finesse, authentic reflections of the volcanic terroir of the north of the island.
The tasting program
1/ JM Rum - White agricultural rum - 50%
A Martinique rhum agricole made from pure, freshly pressed sugarcane juice, distilled according to the tradition of the island's north. Powerful and aromatic, it captivates with its vibrant notes of sugarcane, citrus, and white flowers, ideal for enjoying neat or in a ti' punch.
2/ JM Rum - Organic white agricultural rum - Juste Macouba - 2022 - 52.1%
An agricultural rum made exclusively from sugarcane grown organically in the volcanic terroir of Macouba, in northern Martinique. It is distinguished by its purity and aromatic intensity, blending the freshness of the sugarcane with mineral, floral and slightly spicy notes.
3/ JM Rum - Fruity Garden - 42%
A rum that combines the traditional character of JM with naturally fruity and floral notes. Light and harmonious, it is easy to enjoy neat or in cocktails, offering a balance between sweetness and aromatic freshness.
4/ JM Rum - VSOP - 43%
A rum aged for at least 4 years in carefully selected oak barrels, developing rich and complex aromas. It reveals notes of vanilla, dried fruit, and sweet spices, offering an elegant and warming tasting experience.
5/ JM Rum - XO - 45%
Aged for a long time in oak barrels, it combines finesse and aromatic depth. It is distinguished by its rich notes of candied fruit, vanilla and spices, offering a round, elegant and perfectly balanced tasting experience.
6/ JM Rum - 10 years old - Vintage 2013 - 43.80%
A rum aged for a decade in oak barrels, revealing the full complexity of its terroir. It expresses deep aromas of dried fruit, vanilla and spices, with a round and silky texture, ideal for contemplative tasting.
But also an exceptional vintage not to be missed...tasted for the first time!
