Château Laguiole was created in 1992 by Guy Vialis, a trained sommelier, who relied on the know-how of Aveyron cutlery. The Château Laguiole workshop is located in Sauveterre-de-Rouergue and still produces original knives today despite the death of Guy Vialis. The Laguiole knife, made in France, is the first luxury sommelier knife to come out on the market and it remains today the most qualitative and the most recognised despite several copies and similar models.
