Domaine MICHEL MAGNIEN - Burgundy "Les Graviers" - Biodynamics 2015

It was in 1395 that Philippe le Hardi had the cultivation of Gamay banned in favor of Pinot Noir in order to improve the quality of the wines. Within the AOC Bourgogne are produced red, white and rosé wines. The regional appellation covers nearly 2,500 hectares from the Yonne department to the Rhône via the Côte d'Or. The Côte de Nuits is the area of predilection for Pinot Noir, more than 80% of the wines produced in Côte de Nuits are red wines.

Les Graviers "is a Chambolle-Musigny climate. The vines on this plot are planted from north to south. The roots are deep on clay soil, with gravel in the subsoil, which ensures good water retention and which Withstands hot and heavy summer weather better than certain so-called superior soils, the “Graviers” vine is about 30 years old.

A very pretty Burgundy as you can imagine. A real, simple and juicy Pinot Noir that goes wonderfully with a meal.
