OLD Château CERTAN 1999

The terroir of this wine has been described with precision: a marriage of large round pebbles and clay supported on a subsoil rich in iron . Otherwise formulated, a terrace of Graves Gunziennes in the east of the Pomerol appellation, not far from homes. The vines cover 14 hectares and have been planted over the centuries to make the most of the sun. You will find 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. The vigor and fertility of the soil must be closely monitored so as not to dilute the richness of the grapes too much and obtain good ripeness .

After manual harvesting, the vinification, heir to the past and turned towards the future, takes place in wooden vats and then in barrels for aging .

The Vieux Château Certan estate thus gives birth to a deep, subtle, concentrated Pomerol , rich in sap and dense with many nuances. It is cut for long stays in the cellar.
