Alta Alella - Mirgin Reserva - Brut Nature 2019
Two kilometers from the Mediterranean, on the granite slopes of Sauló d'Alella, the Pujol-Busquets family produces certified organic sparkling wines that combine marine freshness with terroir precision. The house is recognized as an Elaborador Integral, a guarantee of production carried out entirely on the estate, from the vineyard to the tirage and disgorging. Registration in the DO Cava Comtats de Barcelona, Serra de Mar area signifies a taut and saline style, directly nourished by poor and well-drained sandy-granite soils.
Mirgin Reserva Brut Nature 2019 expresses the purest interpretation of this landscape. Made from the indigenous Pansa Blanca Xarel lo, Macabeu, and Parellada grape varieties, it is produced using the Traditional Method and then aged extensively on lees for a minimum of 35 months, well beyond the requirements of the Reserva category. The Brut Nature dosage, with no added sugar, preserves the cuvée's mineral energy and straightforwardness while highlighting the finesse of the bubbles.
The nose opens with a clean palette of crisp white fruits, lemon zest and fresh almond, enhanced after aeration with light notes of pastry and dry stone. The palate displays a straightforward attack then a creamy texture, carried by a finely integrated effervescence. The heart of the palate combines juicy pear, citrus fruits and a precise salinity, signature of granite sands, while a lemony tension stretches the silhouette. The finish, long and dry, evokes chalk, delicate hazelnut and an iodized aftertaste that prolongs the sensation of freshness.
At the table, Mirgin Reserva 2019 is the perfect accompaniment to flat oysters, sea bream ceviche with citrus, or shellfish sashimi. Its chalky texture and lack of dosage enhance sole meunière, turbot roasted with lemon butter, or farm-raised poultry with herbs. Cooked pressed cheeses, mature Comté or cured Mahón, interact with its sapidity and precise bubbles.
