Château Grand Village - White 2014
Château Grand Village Blanc 2014, owned by the Guinaudeau family, also at the helm of the legendary Château Lafleur in Pomerol, is a vintage that demonstrates the same high standards and attention to detail as the greatest Right Bank vintages. Located in Mouillac, on a clay-limestone terroir perfectly suited to white grape varieties, the estate cultivates its vines using a plot-by-plot and environmentally friendly approach.
The 2014 vintage, fresh and balanced, offered a gradual ripening of the grapes, preserving the tension and aromatic purity. Made from a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon, the wine was partially fermented and aged in barrels, with moderate use of new wood, to enrich the texture without masking the natural freshness of the vintage.
The nose reveals an elegant bouquet of white flowers, candied lemon, and vine peach, enhanced by notes of almond and wet stone. On the palate, the body is ample but taut, marked by lively acidity and remarkable precision. The wine develops flavors of grapefruit, light honey, and white-fleshed fruits, supported by a straightforward mineral structure. The finish, long and saline, combines indulgence and purity.
A white Bordeaux of rare precision, combining intensity and finesse, to be enjoyed today or kept for a few more years. Perfect with grilled fish, scallops, or mature goat cheese. Serve between 10 and 12°C.
Grape varieties: Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon
