Château Moulin de Canhaut 2018
Château Moulin de Canhaut 2018, located in Bégadan in the northern Médoc region, is a family estate dedicated to producing authentic, distinguished wines. Its vineyard, planted on gravelly hillsides mixed with clay, benefits from excellent drainage and favorable exposure for the perfect maturation of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, the region's emblematic grape varieties.
The warm and generous 2018 vintage produced grapes of exceptional ripeness. After careful hand-picking, the vinification process was gentle, promoting fruit expression and tannic finesse. Aging in French oak barrels, some of which were new, refined the structure without compromising freshness.
The nose reveals an intense bouquet of blackcurrant, blackberry, and black plum, enhanced by notes of vanilla, cedar, and sweet spices. On the palate, the texture is ample and velvety, supported by supple and perfectly integrated tannins. The heart of the wine, concentrated yet balanced, stretches into a long and harmonious finish, marked by nuances of licorice, mocha, and graphite.
An elegant and expressive Médoc, in a classic and accessible style, to be enjoyed now or kept for a few more years. It will ideally accompany a roast rack of lamb, a grilled rib-eye steak, or a wild boar stew. Serve between 16 and 17°C.
