Château de Fosse-Seche - Eolithe 2017
Saumur

The Benedictine monks were the first to plant vines at Fosse-Sèche, at least 800 years ago. It was also in Fosse-Sèche that in 1905 Mr. Paul Taveau, winemaker, tried a new winemaking experience. From this experience will be born the famous Cabernet d'Anjou.

In 1996, Guillaume and Adrien, their mother Françoise and their stepfather Ueli left their vineyard in Madagascar. In 1998, Françoise, Ueli and Guillaume moved to Fosse-Sèche where they would be joined by Adrien in 2010.

The vineyard is made up of 8 hectares of Cabernet Franc, 1 hectare of Cabernet Sauvignon, 5.5 hectares of Chenin and 0.5 hectares of Chardonnay.

L ' Eolithe is a blend of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Expression par excellence of the siliceous soil of the Jurassic. The fruit is fully present, all in concentration from the 21-month aging on lees in vats.
