Dal Forno Romano's Amarone Della Valpolicella benefits from ideal production conditions thanks to the richness of its soil, composed of gravel, silt and clay, but also with the help of a very beautiful vineyard, planted 60% in Corvina, 20% in Rondinella, 10% in Oseleta, and 10% in Croatina.

Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is a great Italian red wine from Veneto. It is one of the most prestigious appellations in Italy, as is the Barolo or Brunello di Montalcino. It is a tannic, spicy wine with a storage capacity of more than 15 years. Amarone is made with the varieties corvina, rondinella and molinara according to the process of appassimento (candied in the sun).
Grapes lose 30 to 40% of their water mass, thus gaining a concentration of sugars and tannins (15 to 17% vol.).
The grapes are then fermented in barrels for about 50 days before this nectar is aged in oak barrels, over a period of a few weeks to a few years, depending on the characteristics of the harvest and the beliefs of the winemaker. A wine to the maximum of typicality, for great occasions between initiates.

Located in the village of Capovilla near Illasi (Veneto) and known mainly for its famous Amarone della Valpolicella, Romano Dal Forno produces very great wines. He is considered, along with the late Giuseppe Quintarelli, the pope of the Amarone. This very special wine is produced in the north of Verona (molinara, corvina and rondinella varieties), in confidential volumes. Since 1957, Dal Forno has produced only 22 vintages of Amarone della Valpolicella and 25 of Valpolicella Classico Superiore. Rare, sought after, so expensive. Equivalent to the largest Bordeaux or Burgundy, one might say. Certainly, but exceptional for its typicality, above all.
