RHUM JM - La Dame Jeanne No.4 - 47.6%
The Rhum JM distillery, located in Macouba, in the north of Martinique, is one of the most emblematic houses of the Martinique AOC agricole rum. Nestled at the foot of Mount Pelée, it benefits from an exceptional volcanic terroir and a climate conducive to the production of rums with great aromatic intensity. The JM house is recognized for the precision of its distillations and the remarkable quality of its aging, carried out with rigor and patience. Under the guidance of Karine Lassalle, Cellar Master, the distillery has been exploring for several years very high-level blends, highlighting the richness of its old reserves. The La Dame Jeanne series embodies this quest for excellence and rarity.
La Dame Jeanne No.4 is an exceptional blend of Very Old Vintage Agricole Rums, crafted like a masterpiece. Made from rums distilled between 2000 and 2017, this complex blend combines long aging in ex-bourbon American oak barrels and French oak with very varied profiles, including notably woods from the Darney forest (Vosges) and long or intense toasting. Each vintage was selected for its complementarity, then blended with remarkable precision to create a perfect balance between power, finesse, and depth. Bottled at 47.6%, this rum retains great aromatic intensity while offering remarkable harmony. Presented in an elegant Dame Jeanne, it is a limited edition intended for discerning enthusiasts and collectors.
On the palate, La Dame Jeanne No.4 impresses with its richness and refinement. The nose opens with deep notes of roasted cocoa, praline almond, and toasted hazelnut, quickly joined by accents of candied orange, bourbon vanilla, and candied ginger. The mouth is ample, silky, and perfectly structured, revealing a melted and highly complex aromatic palette. The noble woods bring a spicy and slightly smoky dimension that envelops the palate without ever dominating. The finish is long, persistent, and elegant, leaving a sensation of indulgence and exceptional depth. This very fine rum is ideally enjoyed neat, at the end of a meal or during a special tasting moment. A masterful, rare, and essential cuvée for lovers of great aged rums.
