CLOS FOURTET 1991

One of the best wines of the Saint-Émilion appellation, Château Clos Fourtet appears in the list of Premiers Grands Crus Classés B in the latest classifications of 1996 and 2006. In addition to its unique terroir, it has magnificent cellars in the sub-region. limestone soil of the estate , where the wine will be made as soon as the harvest is finished, first in the vat room, then in the cellars.

The property is very well recommended for vinification by Jean-Claude Berrouet and Stéphane Derenoncourt . During the different fermentation and maceration phases, the cellar master carefully monitors the temperature of the must and the extraction of color, aromas and tannins.

The aging of the wine will last 15 to 18 months, in oak barrels, ¾ of which are renewed each year. Clos Fourtet produces a high quality wine with a dark purple color, with aromas of black fruits with floral notes , with silky tannins and a mineral freshness characteristic of the limestone plateau of Saint Emilion.
