DOMAINE DE TREVALLON - Organic 2015 A legendary estate, a huge and great red for laying down! By including Sauvignon and Syrah in equal parts, Eloi Dürrbach creates a wine with fresh, elegant, and vibrant tannins, perfect for all truffle-based dishes. Driven by a strong aromatic complexity, this cuvée, at once fleshy, silky, and easy to drink, is above all a wine of balance if ever there was one! The Domaine de Trevallon is located in the commune of Saint-Etienne-du-Grès, in the Bouches-du-Rhône department, 25 km south of Avignon and 7 km west of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, on the northern slopes of the Alpilles. A limestone massif with jagged ridges evoking "Greek rocks," as the Provençal poet Frédéric Mistral wrote. The vineyard is perfectly integrated into this captivating garrigue landscape. It grows alongside holm oaks, olive trees, and almond trees. The first thing that strikes the visitor upon arriving at the Trevallon estate is the dazzling white limestone rock, with its shattered shapes, standing out sharply against a transparent sky. The contrast between the tightly trained vines and the wild folding of the rock is impressive. "The Alpilles are a magical place," admits Eloi Dürrbach. "I literally fell in love with them." The Trevallon vineyard extends into this vibrant, unspoiled nature over 20 hectares scattered around a farmhouse with sky-blue shutters: 15 hectares of reds composed of equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. And 2 hectares of whites made up of 45% Marsanne, 45% Roussanne, and 10% Chardonnay.

Domaine de Trévallon 2015

Domaine Trévallon is located in the commune of Saint-Etienne-du-Grès, on the northern slopes of the Alpilles in Provence . The property covers 17 hectares, composed of vineyards, scrubland, holm oaks, olive trees and almond trees. In 1950, Jacqueline and René Dürrbach bought Mas Chabert and in 1960, the adjoining property: Trévallon. Eloi Dürrbach planted the first vines in 1973, and managed the vineyard with Floriane for more than thirty years, until his death in November 2021. The emblematic labels of the bottles are the work of René Dürrbach, Eloi's father, painter and sculptor and friend of many painters, including Pablo Picasso. The vineyard has been certified organic since 2007.

The Rouge de Trévallon is a blend of equal parts Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon . Vinification is carried out without destemming, yeast addition, or sulfur. Aging lasts 24 months in tuns with racking limited to the strict minimum and contact with the lees that nourish the wine throughout this period. The Red is best enjoyed the first year (decanted) after bottling. You will then have to wait at least ten years to appreciate it again.

Grape varieties: 50% Syrah, 50% Cabernet Sauvignon
