CHATEAUNEUF DU PAPE Domaine Pegau 2009 Châteauneuf-du-Pape
CHATEAUNEUF DU PAPE Domaine Pegau 2009
The pégau is a terracotta wine pitcher used in the 14th century. The name of this renowned estate of Châteauneuf-du-Pape perfectly reflects the philosophy adopted by the Feraud family, that of respect for authenticity and tradition. The Pégau estate, located in the heart of the appellation, has been managed since 1987 by Laurence Feraud, who lovingly applies her grandmother's recipes in the cultivation of the vines and in the vinification. The wines produced there are very long and combine delicacy and concentration with tasty aromas of red fruits, spices and garrigue. Wines of great sensitivity, true witnesses of the local culture and heritage.
This Châteauneuf du Pape reveals a garnet color with orange highlights. Scents of garrigue (thyme, pine, cedar) and prune emanate from the glass on the first nose. Hints of sweet spices, truffle and cinnamon gradually appear with aeration. The mouth delivers an enveloping sap full of fruit. The wine has remarkable concentration with firm but elegant terms. The finish is fresh and savory. A large bottle.
