The cru de Biston was founded in the 18th century by Monsieur Biston. Its wines are classified by the Intendance de Guyenne in 1776, then, in 1850, the first Féret mentions the cru de Biston among the first wines of Moulis. In 1860, Château Biston became Château Biston-Brillette, with the rank of 1er Cru Bourgeois Supérieur de Moulis. Since then, Château Biston-Brillette has remained in this ancestral place, although the “additives to the brand of crus”, as we said in the Belle Epoque, are no longer governed by the same laws.
