Château GRUAUD LAROSE 2007
Since its creation in 1725, four families have succeeded one another at the head of Gruaud Larose: the Gruaud and Larose families, the Balguerie and Sarget families, the Cordier family and the Merlaut family.
Gruaud-Larose is a Second Classified Growth in 1855. The vineyard covers 82 hectares, the terroir is made up of gravel from the Garonne.
The 2007 vintage was challenging in Gruaud-Larose: a start of dazzling vegetation due to an exceptionally hot April which resulted in an early flowering but spread out and disturbed by the rains and the cooling in late May. The summer was cool and unstable until the end of August, which did not allow sufficient water stress to make it a great vintage. However, September and October were very dry and this allowed sufficient maturity to achieve an honorable vintage.
