Domaine Duroché - Gevrey-Chambertin - 1er Cru Lavaut Saint Jacques 2018
Domaine Duroché is located in Gevrey-Chambertin, in Burgundy. It has been a family estate for 5 generations with the first bottling carried out from the 1933 vintage. Gilles and Pierre Duroché now take care of the property. Following successive buying of plots from father to son, they now operate 8.5 hectares in the Bourgogne, Gevrey-Chambertin, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru and Grands Crus appellations, including the prestigious Chambertin Clos de Bèze.
The Gevrey-Chambertin "Lavaut Saint-Jacques" is made from Pinot Noir grown on the Premier Cru terroir of the same name. The soil is composed of clayey limestone and alluvium. The vines were planted between 1923 and 1980. During vinification, the extractions are moderate and the aging ranges from 13 to 15 months without racking. Bottling is carried out after assembling the barrels of each vintage in the vat. This wine has an aging potential of at least ten years.
Grape variety: 100% Pinot Noir
