Domaine Courbis - Saint Joseph Blanc 2019
Domaine Courbis is located in Châteaubourg, in the Ardèche. The brothers Laurent and Dominique now operate the family wine estate which dates back to the 16th century. The estate is the southernmost of the Saint-Joseph appellation, bordering on the Cornas appellation and is made up of around 35 hectares of vines.
The Saint-Joseph Blanc is a blend of Marsanne (97%) and Roussanne (3%). After manual harvesting, pressing is immediate and followed by settling. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats, then in barrels for 30% of the blend. Aging lasts 10 to 12 months, on fine lees with weekly stirring, for a third in new barrels and the rest in barrels of 1 to 3 wines.
Grape varieties: 97% Marsanne, 3% Roussanne
