Château TOUR DE MARBUZET 2017
Château Tour de Marbuzet is located in Saint-Estèphe, in the Medoc of the Bordeaux region. It was originally part of the large estate Château MacCarthy, divided up and sold in 1854 to Mr. Laurent Mathé, a renowned winegrower of his time. In 1981, it was bought by Henri Duboscq. Classified Cru Bourgeois in 1932, Château Tour de Marbuzet was elevated to the rank of Cru Bourgeois Supérieur in the official 2003 list. It is next to Château Haut-Marbuzet and benefits from the same production techniques. Its 4 hectares benefit from a superior terroir of deep gravel covering a clay-limestone subsoil. The vines are planted with Merlot (40%), Cabernet Sauvignon (40%) and Cabernet Franc (20%).
Château Tour de Marbuzet is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The harvest is manual, allowing a controlled selection of the grapes. After complete destemming, fermentation begins with indigenous yeasts with a long maceration at high temperature and daily pumping over. The wine is aged in new barrels (25%) and in wooden vats (75%).
