Caisteal Chamuis - Blended Malt - Bourbon Barrel - Tourbé - 46%
Mossburn Distillers Limited is a company with a growing whisky brand portfolio. They act as independent bottlers and built new distilleries such as Torabhaig on the Isle of Skye and Reivers Distillery in Tweedbank, on the Scottish Borders. The company is owned by Frederik Paulsen, a Swedish billionaire. The range Caisteal Chamuis was released as a partnership between Mossburn Distillers and Marussia France.
Caisteal Chamuis, also known as Knock Castle or Castle Camus, was once a strategic stronghold which helped the Clan Macleod secure their hold on the Sleat Peninsula on the Isle of Skye, with the first elements of the castle erected in 13th century on an Iron Age site known as Dun Thorabhaig. The ruins of the castle that still exist today testify to its rich history. This classic island-style Blended Malt Whisky is a tribute to Hebridean life and traditions.
This is a blend of peated Single Malts distilled on the Islands of Scotland (Islay, Orkney and Skye). It was double-barrelled, and refined in first-fill Bourbon barrel.
