CHATEAU MARTINENS 1988
Château Martinens is located in the Margaux appellation, in the Médoc of the Bordeaux region. The castle was occupied as a second residence by three London sisters until 1776. They ceded the estate to Pierre Chargeur, a Bordeaux merchant, who increased the area and began construction of the castle. After several other owners, the castle was acquired in 1945 by Madame Simone Dulos and her son Jean-Pierre Seynat-Dulos , the Mayor of Cantenac. Since the 2007 harvest, following the death of Simone Dulos, Jean-Pierre Seynat stopped his exploitation and sold it to the team of Château Lascombes for a period of 30 years.
Château Martinens is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The wine is aged in oak barrels, 45% of which are new. 1988 is considered an excellent vintage in Margaux.
