The Pebbles of Paradise - Etienne Courtois - Romorantin 2018
Les Cailloux du Paradis is owned by Claude Courtois and is located in Soings-en-Sologne , next to Cheverny . Claude Courtois manages the vineyard with his sons, Etienne and Julien, and cultivates 13 hectares of vines of Gamay, Cabernet Franc, Côt (Malbec) and Cabernet Sauvignon in red as well as Sauvignon Blanc and Pineau d'Aunis and other local grape varieties . They work with respect for nature , without chemical intervention and using atypical winemaking techniques.
According to genetic analyses, Romorantin is the fruit of a cross between Pinot Noir and Gouais Blanc . This white variety monopolizes only one appellation in the world: the AOC Cour-Cheverny, in Sologne. The Cour-Cheverny (and therefore Romorantin) appellation area covers 11 municipalities with around sixty hectares in operation. Romorantin offers fairly fine, fruity and pleasant wines with notes of apricot, peach, honey and white flowers, a wine that combines power, liveliness, finesse and excellent aging potential.
