Château de Plaisance - Anjou Blanc 2021
The Château de Plaisance is located in Rochefort-sur-Loire, in the heart of Anjou in the Loire Valley . The estate, which has been organic since 1995 and biodynamic since 2008, was taken over from the Rochais family by Vanessa Cherruau in 2019. This 32-year-old young Angers cultivates 25 hectares of vines on the terroirs of Chaume, Quarts de Chaume and Savennières. . The Château de Plaisance is globally committed to the protection of the environment and biodiversity, towards the most neutral carbon footprint possible.
Anjou Blanc is made from Chenin Blanc grown on a 5 hectare parcel of shale. The harvest is manual and the grapes are slowly cold pressed. Fermentation occurs with indigenous yeasts, a partial malolactic fermentation is carried out. The wine is aged for 9 months in stainless steel vats .
