Domaine de Beaurenard - Côtes du Rhône 2021
The Domaine de Beaurenard is located in Châteauneuf-du-Pape in the Rhône . It has been a family estate for 7 generations, now run by brothers Daniel and Frédéric Coulon . The vineyard covers 32 hectares in Châteauneuf-du-Pape , 25 hectares in Rasteau and 6 hectares in Côtes-du-Rhône . They cultivate the 13 grape varieties authorized for the AOC, and the average age of the vines is around 45 years. The whole vineyard is conducted in certified organic farming , and cultivated in certified biodynamics as well. The grapes, harvested manually at optimum maturity, are transported to the winery in small boxes, in order to avoid the crushing of the grapes, which would cause oxidation detrimental to the quality.
The red Côte-du-Rhône is a blend of Grenache (70%) and Syrah (30%) , grown on a stony clay-limestone soil. The grapes are co-fermented with indigenous yeasts, with temperature control and gentle extraction. The aging is short to preserve the delicacy of the fruit.
Grapes: 70% Grenache, 30% Syrah
